Buddy was a bit of a runt his whole life. He came to us in a chance meeting at a pet store in Schaumburg illinois back in 1996. Just a kitten and the last one in the cage, we were told he’d be exterminated if was not sold soon.
the answer was too easy. Buddy was a handsome outgoing and friendly cat. He lived with us through several moves from Shaumburg Ill, to Olive Branch MS, back home to Maryland in the late summer of 1998. Around 2003-04, buddy started contracting some problems, that we never seemed to be able to answer.
Weight, frequent hair, loss, patchy sores, even open skin sores that exposed inner flesh. over time some things improved, but regardless of what we tried, medications we tried to give him it simply was not enough. I often feel I simply did not do enough, because he truly fought to live for 3+ difficult years for him, and for us to watch him. Through all of this though, at least his last days were spent with his family, and finally with Tami, who bid him a difficult but loving farewell.
I was coming home from Richmond VA the night that he’d passed away. Tami was very strong and made the right decision for him and us. We will always have him in our hearts.
He was a wonderful and loving animal. We miss him terribly
So small, but so strong
Buddy made all the hideouts in the house. He established every place that everyone else would soon follow. it seemed that this was his job.
Always kind of the loner, but in the end, he got very close to us, and said his goodbyes, to us as he slept with us in the evenings.
Buddy passed away peacefully, November 29th, 2007.
