Hansel and Gretel were 2 Lab, Shepherd mixed breed dogs. They were with us for more than 10 years. They were born in or around June of 1998. They became a part of us in July 1998. They were a part of a litter of 11. They had been part parents to our cats over the years. Hansel had suffered from Discoid Lupus since about age 3.  They had been wonderful to us. Hansel was mostly Blond and Gretel was both Black and White with streaks of Blond, and Blond legs.

6/21/06, we had a scare this past week, as Hansel had an incident that caused his eye to become cloudy. I took him to our vet, whom has been wonderful with him. She prescribed an ointment for his eye, after running a Glaucoma test. Fortunately, Hansel’s eye has cleared up, 24 hours later.

February 27 2008. On this Wednesday in February, Gretel had passed away. It was an incredibly difficult thing for Myself and Tami. I had never put a dog to sleep before, or been a part of it. Gretel has this page of her own , and a place in our hearts forever.

Hansel passed away this past Sunday the 7th of December 2008. He lived with us for almost another 10 months after Gretel. We miss him and her terribly. Hansel too has his own page. Someday we will truly understand their meaning in our lives. For now we can only mourn their loss to us. 2008 has been a hard year.

In the past year we have undergone a great deal of loss for our family. I have to personally thank the doctors and absolute professionals at Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic, in Annapolis, MD. They were absolutely the key in making things a little less painful, and brought the best of care in dire times. Thank you all.
